Over calories

My eating habit is weird. My way of cooking..it needs someone who really tough to finish till the end.Today’s lunch wasn’t too much. Just a bunch of steamed veggies and some normally (Thank God!) grilled chickens. Couldn’t remember when was the last time I had that size of chicken.

The other day, I brunched with a pan of veggies. Yes you read it right. A pan. A full pan of veggies. I don’t know when it started but I am madly in love with steamed veggies. I, who wasn’t a real fan of raw tomato – now buying a lot of  tomatoes. I love tomatoes. So I called the day as “The day I love tomato”. And it reminds me of Shane’s poem of “Tomatoes”.

Okay. Okay. Enough of it. Actually, I remembered something that I read on an article when I had a bowl or two of veggies. About the calories value.

It would never be the same if you overtake calories from vegetables and fruits compared to that from pasta, rice or dessert. The way they react inside your body system is surely would make some differences in every possible aspects. It’s okay to overtake calories in a day, depends on the origin of the calorie.

Get what I mean?

now everyone can cook a superlicious spaghetti!

Half-dying suffering from squat-pain, forced myself to cook something to eat. It is weekday and everybody is working so I tried to make my own prego sauce (I’m not so into Prego). Here it is – meat spaghetti with spicy,fresh tomato sauce!

Recipe :

Blend these things :

– 2 tomatoes (before that, peel out the skin. To make it easier, soak it into boiled water for a few seconds)

– 3 garlics

-a red onion

add up pepper and salt. Since I’m madly in love with spice, so I added up 2-3 green chillies.

– – –

heat up pan + oil

throw in chopped onion, crushed garlic, meat (and whatever you want – meatball, sausage, etc), chunks of tomatoes (optional), whatever vegies (carrots,broccoli etc)

wait for the meat to tender

pour in the blended mixture

put in 3 spoons of your favourite chilli sauce

some salt, oregano (optional) and 1 spoon of sugar

To make it flavorful, I put in 3 pcs daun tomyam. So, it smells and taste like tomyam and paprik sikit. *I don’t know how come daun tomyam tu boleh ada dalam refri*

Then, wait until it boils and adjust the viscosity up to your taste

last but not least, don’t forget to boil the spaghetti :]

haha. super easy and way more nutritious from any ready-made spaghetti sauce. Now everyone can cook a good, tasty spaghetti!

SUN-day

Sunday, and I’m still in the holiday mood. My sore throat is getting better, but it follows with flu! I can’t remember the last time I had flu or fever or any kind of discomfort health. Yesterday is a disturbing day. I couldn’t drink any liquid, felt like there was a big, bloody wound right at my uvula (I just google it up. haha!) So, nothing to complain on, I’m grateful for this. Alhamdulillah, maybe this is the way of Allah reminds me that I’m still an ordinary human being; that I should never forget to appreciate my good health before.

There will be a down time for us – anything that we might hate to admit it (failure, rejection, feeling of unappreciated, bad health, you name it) but just one thing, just remember on how long HE made us in our comfort zone. The time we feel so undisturbed – like we were living in our own cosiness bubble, which we can handle every single thing that comes up without any difficulties. Remembering that, oh – this minute tiny test from Him is actually very incomparable to the all easiness we had before.

So, we have to be more grateful. After rain comes sunshine, isn’t? So, complain less, appreciate more :]

The planned potluck is today. Maybe that is the last gathering time.Finally, I ignore the laziness that rose inside me and made up my mind to attend. It must be so fun!

For that, I have to cook the sambal for nasi lemak.The last time I made, abah criticise me greatly. Haha. Abah, how do I cook like you? ~~
